Years ago Gale Hull, the director of PID, spent time with the children in Guatemala doing all sorts of crafts. One little girl was particularly interested in the crafts and completed her work quickly. As the years passed she continued to excel and learn many new crafts.
Keily Pauc is the fourth child in a family of 7 children. She is now 19 years old and in PID’s Small Business and Higher Education programs. She is studying Business Administration as she continues to use her talent, making and designing crafts. Her focus is on handmade bracelets, pendants, and earrings.
Keily’s business plan with PID is in three parts. First, Keily created bracelets that were sold in the US. Next, she trained others to increase production. Keily has now begun managing the small business independently. So far her small business has been very successful. After she received her first payment from bracelet sales she opened a savings account at the local bank.
We look forward to Keily’s future success and hope her story will be an inspiration to those in PID programs and to her community.
